HOW does it work?

STOPit works in 3 easy steps. STOPit personnel will train administrators, students and adults in each step ensuring understanding and ultimately driving program use.

Step 1) Observe & Submit

Individual observes a safety, misconduct, or compliance concern in-person, on- line or through other means and submits their incident using the STOPit app, website, or telephone hotline.

Step 2) Monitor & Escalate

The STOPit Incident Management Center receives, reviews, and, when needed, escalates any emergencies to designated organization contacts and/or law enforcement, via direct phone call, to ensure all emergencies receive immediate attention.

Step 3) Manage & Resolve

Designated organization contacts receive instant alerts, via text, email, and phone call (escalated submissions only) to begin the process of assessing, managing, and resolving a life or non-life threating incident. Law enforcement and other resources are brought in as needed. 

Onboarding & Training

STOPit provides comprehensive onboarding and training for program administrators AND training for students and adults on how to recognize safety, misconduct, and/or compliance concerns via in-person, live virtual or self-led learning management system. Depending on the size of your organization, average time from onboarding to launch is 3-6 weeks.

You should expect 2-4% of your population trained on the STOPit Anonymous Reporting System to submit one or more incidents per year. Of those incidents submitted, approximately 10-15% will be life threatening, 80-87% will be non-life threatening incidents, and 3-5% will be a pranks, hoax, or false.
